The Organ

The Organ, built by Richard Bower, was commissioned by the Oundle International Festival director, James Parsons, and was partly financed by the Douglas May bequest. It is situated at the West end of the Church with the manual divisions entirely in a Chair case overhanging the gallery. Centrally positioned on the gallery is the console with space around for organ students; in the corners of the gallery stand the pedal organ cases which contain the single pedal stop - a Sub Bass 16ft simply called Bass. The cases are of Chestnut with keys in Olive wood and Cocobolo. The organ features a mechanical action throughout and has a tremulant to the whole instrument. The opening recital was given by James Parsons as part of the tenth Oundle International Festival.
